If you would like to run for the board, it is best to self-nominate yourself. If you nominate someone else, then we will contact them to see if they will accept the nomination. Once the board members are elected, they meet during a post-annual meeting and self-select the officers (president, membership/VP, treasurer, secretary, members-at-large) from within the current elected directors.
There are five Board positions up for election this year with a possibility of some incumbent Board Members running for re-election.
A nominee for director may provide a picture that will appear on the ballot next to his name. [Board, 20 Oct. 2014]
A nominee for director is encouraged to provide a statement of qualifications, including any other community boards served on currently or in the past year. A maximum of 600 characters will be published with the ballot. [Board, 20 Oct. 2014; Board, 1 Feb 2021]
The Nominations Committee will review nominee statements to prevent false statements from being published on the ballot, returning the statement to the nominee for any required changes. A statement which is not corrected will not be published; the nominee will have no statement on the ballot in that case.
No one other than a nominee for director may make changes to a statement of qualifications submitted by that nominee, except that the Nominating Committee may delete characters in excess of 600. [Board, 17 Nov. 2014]
No nominee will be placed on the ballot who is not eligible to be elected. [Board, 20 Oct. 2014]
A nominee must have been a member for at least one year prior to being nominated. [Board, 7 Dec 2020]
Before placing a nominee for director on the ballot, the Nominating Committee will verify that the nominee is qualified and will obtain written consent from the nominee. [Reordered 7 Dec 2020]
